I Need Equality
because one action does not speak out for one gender.
I Need Equality
because, when in the convenient store, I would love to put my hands in my pockets without being glared at by the police.
I Need Equality
because it would be awesome to run through my neighborhood without the Crime Watch tracking me down
I Need Equality
because I’m schizophrenic, not evil. I don't want to hurt people.
I Need Equality
because my temple was bombed by people who believe in the same God as I do.
I Need Equality
because I have an imagination, but society continues to destroy it with their vulgar attitudes.
I Need Equality
because I don't know where else to turn, other “movements” are this and that, I can only be a 100% in, or a 100% percent out. I don't like it.
I need Equality
because I’m starving, yet Westerners continue to turn a blind eye towards my war ridden country. But we're human too, aren't we.
Necisito Ingualdad
porque no habla ingles, pero soy Americano.
I need Equality
because i'm tired of being called weird. It's just who I am, but people refuse to see that.
I need Equality
because i'm not in the “in” crowd, so I've got nowhere else to go, but I kinda like it that way.
I need Equality
because I am a slut, player, heffa, pig_Whatever you want to call it, but guess what? I'm proud of it.
I need Equality
because I believe in God, but not religion.
I need Equality
because i'm atheist.
I need Equality
because i'm Pagan.
I need Equality
because i'm agnostic.
I need Equality
because I'm sick, I need help. I'm no monster, I just need help.
I need Equality,
because i'm a girl.
I need Equality
because i'm a boy.
I need Equality
because I'm a man.
I need Equality
because i'm a woman.
I need Equality
because i'm a human being.
What about you?
In response to a very famous piece right now, though this won't recieve as much attention as that piece will. I've gathered situations from all around and crafted this.
The Spanish translates to: I need Equality because I don't speak English, but I'm still American. In Texas where I live, the Latino community is very mistreated by society, and everyone who cannot speak English is assumed to be an illegal immigrant, when that's not always the case. I wanted to really hit on that.
As well as other world issues, Equality is a national thing, not an Westernized Feminist thing, so enjoy.

I really like it and the message is great. Moreover the spanish bit was a good idea as well. It gave the poem something special :)
Keep it up

I hope I'm not being arrogant in assuming that it was my piece (I Need Feminism) that you were referring to as that other piece. If so, then I'm really pleased that it inspired you to write this; it's a really great poem! I love the message and I think it was especially clever of you to put that Spanish bit in. Personally, I think that this deserves more attention than the poem I wrote (I honestly do) because it has a much wider message. I really like it and fully support its message! :)

This is awesome! I like how it's more inclusive and general than that "popular" piece you were referring to.

This is a very touching poem/statement, I feel you, I really do.

And it isn't right for people to assume every spanish person in America is an illegal.

But..this is america, we are a major english speaking country, When tourists from here go to paris or Italy, or Africa, we learn to speak the language, even if its just enough to speak a few sentences that will help the locals to understand us.

So isn't it just as unfair for Americans to have to learn spanish to get a job so that they can help spanish people.
Shouldn't every foreigner who (legally) immigrates to America, be required to learn some bit of the english Language?

Yeah, I see where you're coming from, but in a nation that's known the be the melting pot, I'd assume tourist would be a little more open minded, but  yeah, I do believe that those who legally migrate to American need to learn English.

I just simply stated an opinion that would make more sense than everyone discriminating against each other..

Another fact..I see this all the time, Black people calling white people crackers and no one freaks out about that but, someone so much as whispers the 'N' word and we have riots in the streets. Why is ok one way but not the other?

The reason people discriminate against blacks and other colored people and their stereotypes is because, (I'm not saying white people don't do it too!) Most crimes are committed by a person of color!

They're race has created their own stereotypes and they enforce them all the time! The innocent ones do pay the price as well but you know what, I'd rather be suspicious about some one than be abducted and raped because I gave some one I didn't know, the benefit of the doubt.

Point is, your race dug you a hole..you can either get angry at others, lie in it, or you can help people, become a better person and changed people's opinions of "you" but you are not responsible for the well being of your race!

I thank you for the compliment (unless you were being a smart ass) but I won't claim to be something I am not
I am just simply a person with an opinion which I believe makes more sense then what we are doing now

Awesome.  I read the other piece you are referring to as well, and you are right, there are many areas in which equality is lacking.

Hopefully it gets around like the other one did, and if not, at least you saw it. Thanks for the comment.

I wish you all the best.  I think the other one probably just struck a nerve with a lot of women.  I was just reflecting in the past few days about how much aggressive stuff towards women I was witnessing on the internet.  It just seems to be proliferating everywhere and I've had enough of witnessing it.
